From Portland Oregon, Ramona Falls and the album is 'Intuit'. It is absoluately stunningly brilliant. Indie, eclectic with loads of catchy rhythms and interesting melodies. Wonderful.

The box also has to have the most individual way of getting the CD out!

Sounds interesting Chris, must check it out.

Gene Hoglan ? What about Phil Collins? 🙂
Had that new Krallice album on in heavy rotation, the drumming on it is pretty spectacular - it's not just the speed and skill involved but the relentless intensity of the long tracks - most well over the ten minute mark.

So how do you get the cd out? Hit it with a scythe or something? 🙂

Ulver and 'Perdition City'. Try it if you like the FSOL. Eluvium and 'Talk Amongst the Trees'. Electronica, ambient.

Both albums contain pops, cracks and distortions, it's not your hifi.

If you liked those, try

Just been listening to it on Spotify, after seeing Octopo's post on a previous page. Also similar in style to FSOL.

Lovely jubbly stuff, thanks for the recommendation. Massive Attack up next.

Uriah Heep .... Demons and Wizards .... most probably the best album from Uriah heep ... sadly not on spotify

A wonderful document of inspired and involving piano playing from a truly great British musician, sadly long departed...

Also a great document of EMI's very highest recording standards.

another one of my all time favourites that's not on spotify ... paid a lot for mycopy of the cd, as had to import it

Manfred Manns Earth Band ... Nightingales & Bombers

Many years ago, Maria Morgan was the inspiration for this budding young guitarist. I wanted to accompany her but alas it wasn't to be. Sigh. Yes Keith Field, you may well smile.

Here's the Handful of Songs Theme toon

Currently listening to someone who inspired me in a slightly different way

First listen to Massive Attack, needs another listen. An album that grabbed me first time round is Unwed Sailors 'Little Wars'. Anthemic, catchy feel good post rock instrumental.

Switzerland's finest post rock rockers with heavy guitars and power drums, Shora. The album is called 'Malval' which is Swiss for something or other......
