Just bought this when popping into Tescos to pick up a bottle of wine. I got it on the strength of How Soon Is Now?. Bit undecided at the moment but I'm sure another G&T will help.

Radio 4 in glorious FM, Archive on 4. Konnie Huq looking back on four decades of Sesame Street.

Oscar the grouch was always my favourite 🙂

Ulver and 'Perdition City'. Try it if you like the FSOL. Eluvium and 'Talk Amongst the Trees'. Electronica, ambient.

Both albums contain pops, cracks and distortions, it's not your hifi.

I nearly bought the Unthanks CD on my last record store visit. What's it like Matt? Is the set worth buying the album for? Is the production quality any good?

It is excellent in every respect . I picked it up in the 2 for £10 offer in HMV yesterday, having been a fan of Rachel Unthanks' last CD (The Bairns) for some time. If you like quirky acoustic/folky music played and sung well it is well worth buying. I think it will get a lot of playing time here.

The production is excellent which i more than I can say for my copy of 'Aqualung' which is the mid-90s CD version. I've just ordered the limited edition remaster from 2008 because it is one of my favourite albums.

Now listening to:

I love Free's relatively stripped down sound and Paul Rodgers is always worth listening to. When I saw him with Queen he was sensational.

Moving on to some Moody Blues now, another band that I love. I had the privilege of seeing them on incredible form a couple of years ago. This is an excellent collection of their BBC recordings.

Sarah McLachlan, Afterglow Smooth Sunday afternoon sounds. Perfect with a cuppa.

Now on to Bert Jansch, Black Swan If I keep getting more and more chilled I'll be asleep in 30mins.

I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that NAS and DAC is the only way to go. I have zillions of CDs and there's so many more to buy. It can't be done with physical media!

I'm starting to think that way again as well. I think some sort of re-think is on the cards for the future. Might start by setting up the Squeezebox up again with the V-DAC and take it from there.
