igglebert:I nearly bought the Unthanks CD on my last record store visit. What's it like Matt? Is the set worth buying the album for? Is the production quality any good?
It is excellent in every respect . I picked it up in the 2 for £10 offer in HMV yesterday, having been a fan of Rachel Unthanks' last CD (The Bairns) for some time. If you like quirky acoustic/folky music played and sung well it is well worth buying. I think it will get a lot of playing time here.
The production is excellent which i more than I can say for my copy of 'Aqualung' which is the mid-90s CD version. I've just ordered the limited edition remaster from 2008 because it is one of my favourite albums.
Now listening to:
I love Free's relatively stripped down sound and Paul Rodgers is always worth listening to. When I saw him with Queen he was sensational.
