Re Mastodon - still can't get through it all at one sitting and not convinced its that well produced. Has its moments though.

I love this, and 'Workingman's Dead' but am yet to explore the band's other stuff.

A brilliant album of live performances by 3 members of The Byrds. Roger McGuinn's Thunderbird are superb on disc 2, beginning with a cracking version of 'Lover Of The Bayou'. I've had the privilege of seeing McGuinn live and he is a fabulous performer.

Yeah you get to hear the bonus(legacy)versions too.Have the original too.Not listened to the whole of the legacy version yet but have to say pretty impressed so far.....even at the low bit rates of spotify

Currently listening to Junior by Royksopp, and am surprised to find myself loving it. The Understanding left me cold, but Junior takes its poppier feel and marries it with the trippier sound you expect of Royksopp to great effect.

Perseverance now paying off - been humming this all day in work. Definitely a grower, like all good albums.

Did you get the version with the DVD Dave? I'm gutted as I thought I'd ordered it, but I got the standard version. Would've been interested to see the 50 minute 'making of'. Oh well, maybe they'll release it as a standalone DVD or with a gig or something.

I have the DVD version but it`s for my sons birthday in two weeks time so can`t watch I`m afraid! Mentioned it on another thread that I went into his room to chat to him the other day and the little blighter had downloaded the album onto his laptop! Oh well. He was playing it at the time and what I heard sounded good to me.

Yep, got the dvd version Chris - as yet still to watch it though.

What do you think of the production? Granted there's a lot going on but my system doesn't really do it any favours. Could do with a bit more separation. Compared to The Ocean Precambrian (which I now consider to be a flippin masterpiece) it sounds positively lo fi.
