Playing this CD bought after the phenomenal gig last night by Larry Miller..

.. his Rory Gallagher/Gary Moore style not to everyone's tastes I'm sure, but to me and my mates the gig was as good as it gets. All for £12 too!

.

I agree with you DIB, Larry Miller is great. I have the albums Outlaw blues and unfinished business by him and they are ace albums.

I am listening to the album The best of the original Dubliners by the Irish folk legends. I'm on CD 1 (of a 3 CD box set) track 6 which is called I wish I was back in Liverpool. The only bad thing about this best of box set is that sometimes they give you a studio version and a live version of the same song which means your getting the same song twice but that's ok because it does not happen that often. If you like folk music and you don't have any Dubliners in your collection then you nedd to change that.

Hi DIB is this a new release ? Ive got Richard Thompson's Best of capital years but Ive not seen this one Do you like Electric ? I must admit I do

... delightful. I will never ever tire of listening to RT's songs, and this is a lovely c ollection of songs from the last 40 years, old and new.

Yes, just been released on Proper Records. I've had it on pre-order so it arrived a day or two before general release.

It's basically 14 re-worked acoustic versions of songs from the last 40 years. A number of the songs were acoustic originally, but it's a decent collection of songs. A great place to start for anyone not familiar with RT's work.

I don't know if you are still here but it seems that the http spotify links now work using simple copy and paste but you have to put the link into a second box that appears when you try and paste it in your main post , you just paste the link again in the box and click OK .

I hope this works for you , I miss your input *smile* .

Hi Electro,

I really appreciate that mate, I'll have a go later when my wife can help me if I get stuck. I miss contributing.

Not a link, but try Asgeir "In the silence" on Spotify.

Cheers

Feist - Monarch lay your jewelled head down .

I bought this recently on ebay hoping it was the original rare Cd, but of course it turned out to be a quite well made counterfeit from Lithuania even though the seller was supposed to be from Switzerland *nea*

But I have to say the sound quality is very good and the music is superb so I am pleased ,really glad I bought it .

This morning the classic 1954 BBC recording of Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood with Richard Burton with his wonderfully rich voice as the narrator. Not everybody's cup of tea I guess but ...

Mac , I love Sofia Talvik , what a great voice !

There is something about her voice that reminds me of Noémie wolfs the lead singer of Hooverphonic .

And a lovely acoustic version of the same song .

Glad you like Dominic Miller, I think you might like Ray Obiedo as well *smile*.
