Two wonderful singers and one of the most musically sensitive and colourful conductors of our time combine with a superb orchestra and Mahler's sublime writing. A beautiful disc with typically fine sound quality from Harmonia Mundi.

Two brilliant albums. Eliza Carthy's most recent album finds her sounding more comfortable with her own unique, quirky style than ever and her distinctive vocals and brilliant fiddle playing are used to great effect. The new 'Imagined Village' album is a better all-round work than their first and the less heavy production gives the music more room to breathe. Martin Carthy's version of '*** on feel the noise' is brilliant, and the string reprise of 'Scarborough Fair' with Chris Wood on vocals is beautiful.

Also from LA is El Ten Eleven and more post rock instrumental. This is very rhythmic, catchy and interesting music ideally suited to prog rockers and fans of Brian Eno

One of my favourite albums of the noughties. A brilliant fusion of musical styles with typically superb musicianship on display from the core band (including Martin Carthy, Chris Wood, Eliza Carthy, Simon Emerson), and from the 'star' guests Paul Weller, Benjamin Zephaniah, and Billy Bragg. A great hi-fi test disc as well. There is so much going on for the system to grip on to in terms of texture, frequency range, soundstaging, and instrumental timbres.

Can I just ask how are you putting album cover's in here?

Can you tell me in simple instructions how to do it please?

Thanks

Bring the cover up on Amazon or somewhere. Right click on the cover and click on Properties then highlight the address (URL) right click and copy.
Then when back on here highlight (I'll post the rest when I can get the correct symbol name on my computer so I can tell you the correct symbol to use. At the moment I cannot get any of the symbols to load on my computer)

I bet this post will look a mess as there must be a problem somewhere
