Big Chris:Xentrix - For Whose Advantage?

I see the albums have been re-released. I remember watching them live with Skyclad in Manchester many moons ago. Were a good band.

Today it's the XRay Spex Anthology 'Lets Submerge'. Just arrived in the post and I'm gonna turn it up if the OH ever leaves the house for long enough. She's 10 years younger and missed the whole Punk era. I put Identity on and she stormed in and said "you can turn that s*%t off for starters' ...... Then went into her lounge to watch Numpty Kyle on the box......Mmmm

I got the first 2, then my tastes changed. Still like them, but unfortunately mislaid the 1st one.
Still prefer Sabbat, especially Dreamweaver(reflections of our yesterdays)... awesome album.

Coldplay - Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends

Like music, only without any emotion...

If you say so.

Very interesting programme on that painting last weekend on BBC World.
The concept of Liberty.

Andrew Everard:Indeed I do, young amphibian, indeed I do

I bow to your superior judgement. From this day forth, music is no longer subjective...

I find plenty of emotion in Coldplays music thanks.

In that album??? Now I know you are joking...

We don't all have the same ears, hearts or brains. I have only listened to the whole album once, so I am reserving judgement, but its a bit sad to slag off someone elses taste in music IMO.

It's funny you say your tastes change, as 'Kin' (The album after 'Shattered Existence' & 'For Whose Advantage?') Was a complete departure from earlier stuff.

Gone was the speed, (on the whole) and the whole album was much slower. It's also a more morose album. I still love it, but it's not really an album to crank and mosh to!

🙂

Oh yeah. Survivor? I bought a Skyclad album once (at 'Our Price' no less!) I returned it as it was way too poncey, If I remember I hated the vocals.

But I was young and a thrasher, maybe I'd appreciate it more these days.

Today it's.....

Cynic - Focus
Job For A Cowboy - Genesis
Atheist - Elements
Queen - News Of The World

This week i've been mostly playing my 2 most recent purchases :-

Xavier Rudd - Food In The Belly (Recommended by a mate and then saw him in Glastonbury, good, mellow music with acoustic guitar, digeredoos, bongos and all sorts of other stuff ).

Black Mountain - In The Future (Another band who 1st came to my attention in Glastonbury (good stoner rock)).

I'm repeatedly playing Jilted John by Jilted John to my 14 year old daughter. If I can get it around the school there may be a revival
