Just interested in peoples experience of this amp? I'm still digesting the merits and character of this amp. Having bought one, I'm in love with it. I find that the midrange is detailed, but with a slight recess, which lends it a slightly 'scooped' tone. The extremes of treble seem very forward, which makes tweeter activity quite prominent. However, I don't consider the sound overly bright on the whole. It's not incredibly open in conjunction with my Marantz cd5004 and silver 1s. The amp just seems to embrace the frequency extremes with a lot of heart. I can really get how some people will not be taken with the presentation, but I find that it really brings out the sonic signature of metal guitars and drums. I can hear the 'vowels' present in certain combos of guitar and amp as used in the studio. I find the sense of track separation really exciting. Anyone who cares to muse on this, i look forward to your responses!

I had one on a 30day trial - but I think it was broken.

I did not buy, it was returned I was not impressed. That said there are a few positive views on it around the web so I suspect the Audiolab quality control is questionable.

But a really good looking amp in the flesh.
