I have a pair of B&W 685 that I want to sell. Unfortunately I accidentally damaged the covers on one of the speakers. The cover have four pegs that goes into the holes on the speaker. Three av these pegs are broken. I can easily just glue them back together and maybe make it look like they are not damaged.
The speakers are otherwise in mint condition! I have the original box as well. They look really brand new. On hifshark the prices are betweem 200-500 GBP.
What would be a reasonable price for my speakers?

Cheers

Hi, it is not easy to estimate. 300 GBP max I think. BR.

There’s a scruffy pair from a trader on eBay asking £249. Are the rubber faces sticky on yours?

Best take some good pictures, explain and photograph the defects, and allow bids. That’s the real gauge of market value. If in no hurry then you might get £250 or so.

They are not sticky. Besides the damaged pegs they are in excellent condition. Like brand new.

Well, as I say, an auction will get the market value, but in all likelihood there aren’t a legion of fans awaiting your old speakers! In the nicest way, you’ll have to take a punt and set a price, or risk getting a low ball offer and nothing else!

Lots of folk ask too much, then reduce the price. I look at hifi on eBay almost daily so I notice a pattern. Traders ask top dollar then after a week, if not sold, offer ten to 20% off to those ‘following’.
Essential to take good clear pictures in daylight, and describe everything. Don’t use the AI nonsense! Good luck!

Selling on Ebay is tougher than it used to be, and the 685 S2 is an older model now - still a good speaker, but there's no shortage of options around new and second hand that can equal or surpass them. List them honestly with good photographs and, as @nopiano says, skip the AI rubbish - I always move on quickly if a seller has shown such little care that they couldn't be bothered to write a bespoke description about the actual item they are selling.

Selling history shows prices between £100-£350, so pitch somewhere in that range. Given the broken pegs, I'd suggest £250.00, but you need to be honest about the damage.
