Paid a visit to my dealer today. Hoping that his first Elicit R would have arrived. No such thing. Next week...

So I had a cup of coffee (we dutchies do that ;-)), and listened to his new 'toys'. A set of Spendor D7's behind a Sudgen amp.

Put Daft Punk on the Naim streamer.... my god. I thought Spendor made 'dull' sounding speakers. It sounded absolutely fabulous!

Was at Hifi Lounge last week - popped upstairs to listen to a Bryston Pre/Power with Focal Speakers source was an RP8 with a Dynavector cart (2 up from the 10x5).

Put Judie Tzuke on, WOW Sweet Holy Jesus.......it sounded ace......loud too........so it should for £40k

Whn you get to listen to the Elicit R you will be impressed!

The dealer already had an exclusive demo of the Elicit, and he told me he was *very* impressed with it. And not to sell me one (he actually advised me to hold on to the Brio-R and first start searching for other speakers).

I had a pair of Spendor S3e speakers which were, admittedly, 'comfy' but since the SA-1s arrived that dispelled that myth for me 🙂

I used to have a pair of BC1s, all my mates laughed as they were well known not to be able to do rock and roll.

So i invited them around and put on Bad Company, the title track from the album of that name. Starts off quite gentle, then Simon Kirke's drums come in with a huge crash. Left my mates, all experienced hi-fi enthusiasts, with their chins on the floor in awe.

I think my Phase Linear 400 (273 watts rms 1khz, measured) may have had something to do with it!

No pharmaceuticals were involved, just lots of watts. The Phase linear was hidden in a cupboard so my guests did not have any idea of what to expect.
