Want HD Freeview box

Looking to get one in time for WC

Need it to have:

-Twin tuner so can record one channel and watch others
-Internal HDD or can attach HDD through USB port
-Optical out for sound

Anything decent out there ?? If not is this any good ?

That Humax isn't a PVR so won't let you record unfortunately. The version which can record is not out till July so isn't an option for World Cup as well.

Have a look at this thread which lists the main contenders - I've been out round Croydon today attempting to look at some of the boxes on offer but not one is available in the shops in Croydon, they seem to only be available online.

Thank you professorhat (love the name). So no decent PVR's yet, meaby will wait till July/Sep for 500GB Humax. For a cheap and good HD box though that Humax I linked seems ok ?? Just to get me through WC then sell it on lol

Yup, although from what I've been reading, the Digital Stream (mentioned at the bottom of the article) and Phillips boxes are worth looking into. Both can be purchased now and would fit your requirements.

I'm pretty convinced I'm going to get the Phillips box, I'd just like to try and see the Digital Stream in action before doing so which means a trip to John Lewis in Oxford Street I think (although it's available to buy online from johnlewis.com).
