Question Volume issue with Technics SL-1200MKII, Yamaha WXC-50 preamp and Genelec G Two active speakers

Hi!

I have Yamaha WXC-50 MusicCast preamp, and two Genelec G Two active speakers. I just hooked up my old Technics SL-1200MKII turntable via RCA to it... and the volume is very low.

I read on another forum that switching the Yamaha preamp's mode from "preamp" to "player" should help. I tried this, but it didn't have any effect on the volume or anything.

Besides the turntable I only have tv connected to the Yamaha via optical chord... and occasionally I use bluetooth from my phone and laptop. They work fine.

Any ideas what to try next?

No it doesn't. No wonder the TT is quiet.
You can't connect the SL-1200 directly kymo.
As Daytona says, you must go via a phono preamp to the Yamaha aux input.
