Upgrade advice please!

I currently have the following headphone set-up...

• Grado 325i
• Graham Slee Novo
• CA DacMagic
• CA 640 CD player (used as transport)
• True Colours Industries Coral optical cable
• Atlas Equator phono cable.

I'm looking at spending £500-£1k on upgrades, can anyone recommend suitable upgrades? I'm not looking to add speakers to my set-up.

gary, you have a very decent setup! i am interested to know what you use the optical cable for - i am guessing to connect the 640C to the DACMagic? if this is the case you really should invest in a proper Coaxial Digital Interconnect - these far exceed optical cables in terms of sound quality! considering your setup you should invest maybe invest £100or so.
the next upgrade is possibly a little complicated. you could upgrade your cd player, within your budget you could get a stonking cd player (especially if you buy secondhand!)though it may make your DAC obsolete. which brings about the complication - do you use the dacmagic with your pc or just your cdp?
another choice you have is to upgrade your cans (although they are already amazing). the most obvious choice would be the GS1000s which you can pickup for around £600 now.
