Budget is £200 and dont mind second hand. Already have ortofon om30 cart and stylus.

Advise appreciated (thinking maybe thorens)

Thorens are good if you can find one for that sort of money or something like a Regards RP3. Have a good look on eBay and check description carefully. You can sell on your 505 there too. Also look at dealers for ex demo Project etc
