Over the past couple of years I took advantage of free trials of the major streaming services. I was put off Spotify because while using their free system, the advertisements (yes, I know those disappear when one pays a sub) suggested Spotify was aiming at a demographic I wouldn't associate with!
Amazon Music was an awful experience: it simply wouldn't work properly on my iPhone, and their customer tech help was abysmally poor - the advisors hadn't a clue and admitted they worked only part time.
I went for Qobuz because the trial was very pleasing, and they specialise in high-res files, with decent prices on downloads. Their catalogue is huge (listening as I write to Nina Simone) and being French in origin, they list vast quantities of current French popular music - much of which I find very interesting.
