Arrgghh, why does the title get through the forum mangle, but all the text disapear when posting????
Anyway, as I think I was saying, last month I finally got rid of an old saggy sofa with far too many comfy cusions (because, for those of a certain age, no one expects the Spanish Inquistion), and in its place got a shiney new chesterfield (room is 3m x 4m, speakers less than 2m away and facing said sofa).
Now, I had feared after placing the order that the harder more reflective sofa would likely ruin my sound - harsher midrange I figured. Well, how wrong was I, the system sounds significantly better to my ears, and in particular I seem to have got myself a significant extension in the bass department (which suits me fine).
So while none of this is unsighted, double blind or remotely scientific (although there is physics at work somewhere I am sure), this is turning out to be one of the best tweeks I have ever made, albeit one of the most expensive!
