I’m all for supporting local businesses but my last two trips to local record shops have been very disappointing.

Pricing is now way beyond what I’m willing to pay for second hand/used records.

It is much cheaper finding brand new records on amazon and other online stores, not just by the odd quid or two, but £10 and more, some were £65 for an album. That’s just plain ridiculous to me.

On both occasions I visited in the afternoon, and both shops were empty. That pretty much summed it up for me.

Sadly, that’s two more places I won’t even bother going to anymore.

But old original pressed vinyl is worth more than the new copies and better to listen to in my opinion...

just my opinion though.

Pop over to the Discogs website as it will give you an idea of what the albums you are interested in are going for.

Get the best deal from wherever you can. There are too many jumping on the vinyl resurgence bandwagon and they deserve to fail if being unrealistic.

In all honesty, I would rather buy a brand new copy of an album for under 20 quid than pay an artificially inflated price for a used, 20+ year old record, with god knows how much use/abuse .

Really not bothered about discogs either. You get the same there.

Im gonna stick to new from now on.
