Indeed, Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Phil Lynot, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain and Janis all dancing away at Club 27She was as nutty as a fruitcake.
Wasn't she one if the 27 club who snuffed it at that age?
Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. Robert Johnson was the original, though the concept didn't really exist then. My local one is Peter Ham of Badfinger, mainly famous for 'Without You', sung by everybody else, mainly Harry Nilsson and Mariah Carey.Indeed, Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Phil Lynot, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain and Janis all dancing away at Club 27

MG, as it is now, is just a British brand name, chosen and bought by a Chinese car manufacturer, to boost sales in the UK and Europe. Sadly, Lotus looks like it is also going the way of just being, a British brand to sell Chinese cars.Terrible shame another great name in car manufacturing is closing down their operations in the UK and moving to the US.
MG China owned now producing excellent hybrids in Chy Na. Dyson has gone to Singapore. I know it's a vacuum but has two little wheels

Whatever you, or I, think of MG and what it had become, buying the rights to the name, has served SAIC well.A rather nostalgic view

Very few British owned cars 😢Terrible shame another great name in car manufacturing is closing down their operations in the UK and moving to the US.

All my German cars are British owned. Well, now I've bought them they are!Very few British owned cars 😢
When I last met up with my friend, a few days ago, he told me he ordered £34K MG hybrid, white with black leather seating. I believe, he's expecting to pick up from local dealer next week, hopefully there won't be delay in delivery from China.MG are awful now, just generic electric/hybrid vehicles, same as Lotus. Long gone are the days of fast, stylish sports cars of Colin Chapman. They are now horrible, faceless rebadged Chinese contraptions.
The Chinese and Tesla will struggle in the next 10 years. Watch this space....

They are dreadful pieces of tat. I wouldn't have one if you paid me.When I last met up with my friend, a few days ago, he told me he ordered £34K MG hybrid, white with black leather seating. Going through the specs and the level of sophistication in terms of comfort and technology, I must confess, I'm really impressed.
When it's delvered I'm popping over to help him setup the entertainment and navagation software, which I'm looking forward to. He's offered to take me and missus to Portsmouth in his car, should be fun!
I'm happy to feed back my first impressions. 🙂

They are good cars. A good alternative to the EliseTalking of Lotus, my brother & I still talking about getting something fun to do some track days with. Aiming for cheap-ish & not a restoration project has ruled out some awesome contenders. Currently, Vauxhall VX200 is high on our list. Hoping this might give us the Elise the experience without the sky-high cost.

I hear you but if I had £34K to spend on a car, it will have to be Mercedes🙂I don't care. They

I don't give a monkeys about technology, the car has to feel and drive with passion; a car has to be characterful, something I guarantee you won't get with these generic pieces of tat.
Just to prove my point, I'd be willing to let you drive my Alfa, then you'd understand. It won't be as fast as these horrible monsters but speed isn't the ultimate goal: I would guarantee just after a few miles you would get out with a huge smile on your face.
How many MGs have you driven or even sat in to arrive at that view out of interest? They are dreadful pieces of tat. I wouldn't have one if you paid me.

One could also say you are also guilty of blinkeredness. Some people don't care what they drive, as long as it works, whilst others love a car to have some character. Very different points of view but, neither is wrong. And there it is!
Just a rant based on your rose tinted view of Alfas... Typical car bore blinkeredness
