Tempted to buy Monitor Audio Silver RS8 5.1 system. What AV amp?

Only trouble is the center is so big (190mm high) it is a squeeze onto the middle shelf of my Sound style AV rack. Great sound, especially with music.

Any suggestions on something smaller for the center which will sound balanced with the rest of the system, or perhaps other full speaker set ups?

Also was thinking of pairing with the Yamaha RX-V1700 which I can buy for £399 (was £900), the only thing is I only play Blue Ray on my PS3 and it doesn't have the latest decoding. Is it worth spending more and moving up to the Onkyo 875? Am a little put off by the heat they generate. Wired up with QED silver Anniversary?

Musicality is important to me. Would appreciate some guidance on systems that are equally good with music as well as films. Also have a Sony RDR-HXD970 DVD recorder with full upscaling to 1080p.

I am interested in the replies you get for this. I have RS6s and the RSLCR in the middle. The missus went berserk when she saw the centre speaker - I think it looks good - sounds amazing! Yesterday I took the day off and installed my R90 rear speakers. I waited for her to come home from work and it took her over 2 hours to notice them!! I then mentioned that they can't be that bad as she didn't see them. Her response, "Can't we have one in the middle and get rid of the big one"!!
