Very interesting, if like me you have an interest in obsolete audio technology. Probably less so if you don't...

I thought I knew all about old audio formats, but I didn't know about this. At first you might think it's some kind of early magnetic tape cartridge player, or something similar even to the RCA Magazine Loading Cartridge. But you'd be wrong.

Various cartridges were available running from 60mins to a staggering 4hours.

Yeah they were good at that once weren't they ('they' hifi / audio manufacturers). But then they had to be. With analogue equipment, the sound quality and durability were both inexorably linked to how well a product was designed and built, which spawed the 'garbage in garbage out' source-first philosophy.
