hi

I have got a cambridge AM1 amp with q bookshelf speakers and want more bass so was wondering if I could get a

Yamaha yst-fsw050 subwoofer

and connect through the rec out rca output

possible?

I wouldn't bother with that 'sub', it will only detract from the sound imo, looks more like a fart in a box.

Either save till you can get something worthy of the name subwoofer or don't bother, the BK Gemini is the cheapest sub worth bothering with or you might be able to find a small cheap second hand Rel.

This output is fixed level and no use for driving a subwoofer. You can use any sub that works from your speaker outputs, though the Yamaha does not. It will not work with am AM1.

If you are in the UK, Richers have the Tannoy SFX under £100, this will work with your system.

Buy and enjoy, learning about hi-fi as you go.
