Hi

New to this, but could anyone help..

I have a Tannoy HTS subwoofer which after being on standby for a while, blows its internal fuse.

I have ruled out the following:

- Output from amplifier (it blows fuse even when only connected to mains)

- Faulty fuses (I have changed many times, including trying "slow blow" fuses of same value)

- One-off faulty subwoofer (supplier has replaced TWICE with a new one)

- "Spikes" in electrical supply (as fitted with a surge adapter)

I realise that there could be fluctuations in the mains supply that may not be corrected by the surge adapter, but then I wouldn't have thought they would then be sufficient to blow the fuses.

Any help or advice anyone could give, would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

John

Assuming that all is connected OK, I'd say it sounds like a faulty batch of subs. Full refund time I reckon.

I had a problem very similar to this with my Tannoy sub.
