Last Friday I brought a lovely cherry Wharfedale SW150 from Superfi in Camden. After painfully carrying the sub all the way home (my arms still hurt now) I found that my existing cable did not power my lovely new sub.

I need a 1 to 2 rca cable to go between my amp and the sub.

I have seen Y splitters but surely these would change the characteristics of the cable and if I was to get one of these would it be better to get matching 1rca to 1rca cable?

In what way does your existing cable "power" your sub? Is the sub not working in some way?

You only need a single RCA to RCA cable. Just connect it from the subwoofer pre-out on the amp to one of the inputs on the sub, usually Left. That's it. You don't need any splitters or 1-2 cables, in fact I have never heard of any performance increase, just your wallet will be a few quid lighter.
