Student needs speaker advice!!

As far as computer 'gaming' speakers go those Corsair are miles better then any of the others that I've heard so it's well worth trying to get a pair of them second hand if possible. The PC magazines rate those Corsair speakers as the best too.

Alternatively if you can't get the Corsairs then you may want to consider some active studio monitors which are basically just speakers with the amplifier built in. These are often sold as single speakers rather then pairs so always check if the price includes 1 or 2 speakers when looking at studio monitors.

Here are a few examples of good budget monitors (you could check ebay for them second hand too).

Behringer Studio 50USB - £95 per pair.

StudioSpares Seiwin 5A - £129 per pair.

M-Audio BX5 - £139 per pair.
