Streaming headphone set up

Over the weekend I spent some time listening via a pair of AKG701 headphones and was mightily impressed with them.

Where I work in the Middle East I listen mostly using as a source my PC streaming lossless files from Foobar using AirFoil/Apple Airport Express into one of the optical inputs of my Onkyo AVR. I also listen to Spotify mostly in off line mode again streamed wirelessly.

For a while now I've been thinking about a "bedroom system" so I'm thinking why not a headphone based system. I could stick with the streaming "theme" buy another APE and feed that into a DAC/Headphone amp.

Has anyone any views on a suitable DAC I'm tempted to try the Fubar IV but because of the dearth of HiFi shops here I'll have to buy unheard so to speak so any inputs would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks John I think baited breath sums it up

Where I work it's as easy (and a good deal cheaper) to buy on line from the USA so theres no price advantage in going for the usual DAC Magic Beresford suggestions in this price bracket.

I'd also be looking to the Fubar to eventually use with my Sonos ZP90 at home so I'm as much interested in it's performance as a straight DAC as in it's headamp abilities.
