Streaming Amazon Music via Roku vs WiiM

For years, I’ve streamed Amazon Music through my Roku TV. But recently, I upgraded my system and felt that the Roku just was compressing the signal too much.

So I purchased a WiiM Pro Plus streamer to see if would be better. OMG! The Wiim is sooooo much better it’s unbelievable.

The music now is spacious, with each voice and instrument clearly defined, and there’s a sound stage where there wasn’t any before, and the music brings tears to my eyes.

Anyone using Roku should switch as soon as possible.

For streaming I generally use Tidal directly to my Yamaha receiver; but when I've used Tidal through Plex on a Roku Ultra I haven't noticed anything being limited. I'm guessing that Roku TV depends too much on the TV hardware. I'm curious if Roku has minimum specs for TV manufactures.

I just found out that the Amazon music app in Roku does not play their HD or Ultra HD music. It will only play their normal mp3 music.

That is apparently the source of the problem.
