Around 1200 for this model. Is it a lot better than my Argon?
Well, I’m going on its long-standing reputation, and the fancier TD1500 which I was very interested in at one time.

I’ve not even seen an Argon that I’m aware of, but they look decent enough. However, I can’t imagine you’d be disappointed in a Thorens. (They were Swiss originally, but like everything these days they’re from the far East these days)

I agree with @nopiano, cannot say I have heard or even seen either deck bit if you can get the Thorens at a good price it might be the one to go for.
Most Thorens I have encountered were not direct drive though.
At least they don't fit the usual 2M Red cartridge....... 🙂

The nice thing about the Thorens it has a headshell now instead of the old fixed one which makes it versatile if you like changing between cartridges.
