Spotify Premium - Quick Question...

Hey all,

Just a quick question regarding Spotify Premium. How much of their content is in "CD Quality" sound?

I'm more than happy to spend £10p/m to get better quality (even though the free stuff seems very good), however pretty much all of the music I listen to is from the 70's & 80's.

So I don't want to spent the money if its only the modern songs that are getting the benefit from it, also do they tell you you're listening to a higher quality track?

the audio quality is the same with the pro account

it is 160kps streaming audio (Ogg vorbis -q5) about the same as 192k MP3 or there abouts.

I think it is surprisingly decent for the money. Anything I really take a shine to I buy, but it the tenner a month keep me in new music and stops me buying random albums I end up not liking.

Just checked the spotify blog and noticed the update oops

Spotify are in the process of upping the bitrate to 320kpbs for premium users,News story here.

Thanks for the replies chaps, I decided to go for it for the sake of a tenner.

From the blog, it sounded like they're going to convert the entire library in time so I guess it'll just be a waiting game... Hopefully I'll notice an improvement on most songs.
