Speakers for Cyrus 8vs2 & DacMagic FLAC System...

Hey Folks,

I am currently using a CA DacMagic (FLAC via USB) to Cyrus 8vs2 (Chord Chameleon Silver Plus interconnects), and a pair of Quad 12L2's (Chord Rumour 4).

I'm not really happy with the sound of the Quads as everything sounds too closed in and warm, my room is only medium sized and I mainly listen to rock music.

My speakers are positioned close to walls, on the rear and sides.

Any suggestions on speakers?

Hi Gary are you after more standmounts or a small floorstander, like the Pmc GB1i's/spendor A5's

I would love to suggest the Spendor SA1s because they (apparently) go well with Cyrus and are placement flexible, but they might be a shock in terms of bass compared to the Quads!

I'd have a listen to some Proacs. 110's or 1sc ( or new equivalent) if the budget will stretch.

EDIT although the 1sc is supposed to like a bit of space 'round it. So maybe the 110s. You'd pay about £400 for a mint pair 2nd hand.

Def worth a try but I'd be a little wary of the treble matching the Proac 1SC with a Cyrus amp.
