Speaker Spikes

I discovered yesterday that somebody helpful threw out the spikes from my Monitor speakers (I removed them when I got them as we have a new wooden floor). Not best pleased! I had ordered some spike shoes so I could replace the spikes.

Is it easy to purchase replacement spikes? If so, do they all have universal screw threads so they will fit the feet of my Monitors?

Thanks

As an aside - do I really need spikes with my Monitors on wooden floors? The brochure with the speakers say simply to remove them for use on wooden floors. Anyone have any experience with Monitors like this?

Mark,

I found a more effective insulation method was to put the speakers on chopping boards with half cut squash balls underneath them. That method certainly wont damage your floor and the boards and balls are probably easier to get from your local Tesco that speaker spikes!

matengawhat:just contact monitor audio and ask them how much for another set - you never know they may just post them to you!!

Tried that last night. Waiting for a reply...

Still not convinced I need the spikes for a wooden floor with the adjustable rubber soled feet on the Monitors. They seem pretty stable anyway.

Monitor contacted me - they are sending me out a full set of replacement spikes and spike shoes for £15 inc P&P to me here in Ireland. Lot cheaper than trying to find replacements on the net!
