Hi, recently got cyrus 8 powers, and the pre amp. At the moment im bi-amping into a pair of b&w 865's, 1 amp driving treble and the other doing the bass. Buying new speakers next week, have been looking ar the spendor A5's and A6's. My problem is i can no longer bi-amp 'cos the spendors are'nt bi-wireable. Will i lose a bit of power or resolution with this? Should i put amps into mono? Or get bi-wireable speakers, such as the pmc gb1i, and bi-wire/bi-amp? Bloody confused.

IMO youve got a good set-up but theres money to be made...

The Spendors will gel very well with the Cyrus separates so if it were me; id be going for the Cyrus Pre along with the 8Power for now and sell the other 8Power as its not needed.

The B&W 685's need good driving (more than the Spendors IMO TBH) so you'll have plenty enough power with the remaining power along with the pre :)

What CDP do you have?

I have a cd8se. I have a suspicion that the amps may sound nicer in mono, even if they are'nt bi-wired/bi-amped. Not looking to get rid of any of it, may upgrade in later years. Forgive my hi-fi ignorance, more used to AV products.

No thats fair enough; I just thought for less items it could be a choice.

I deffo agree that a mono set-up would be very good and at the end of the day its all Cyrus so it's all upgradable!
