Hi all,

Just bought a sony s370 bluray player. Just turned it on and it sounds very detailed and a bit upfront and lacks a little bass punch compared to my pioneer 676a and the picture a little digital looking. Like other equipment does it change with burn in time, smooths out a bit etc.

Also is there any picture or sound adjustments that come with the unit, so I can try different settings? By the way what is FNR, BHR and MNR on the video settings.

Cheers

Steve.

There may be minor mechanical differences at the start, but it is debatable that they will be audible. What really is happening is that you are getting tuned and used to its sound signature. How long you persevere with a sound you do not like is up to you. Mostly, IME and how others relate 'burn in' to work, chances are you will grow to like the sound. That is why 'burn in' tends to be seen as a positive thing.

Ive found upscaled dvds looked better after a 'run in' period

Hi,

Its improved dramatically - picture and sound. However there are sound drop outs - softer and louder?

What do I do?

Cheers

Steve.
