Sony KDL-40V3000 or Samsung LE-40M87BDX?

Hi everyone.

My friend is looking to purchase a new lcd tv which will be located in a sitting room and connected to sky+, PS3, and possibly a DVD player.

He had decided on the Samsung LE-40M87BDX, which we found for around £680. However, we have now found the Sony KDL-40V3000 for around £665.

Please can you give us some guidance - which is the better tv?

Wow.... definatly the KDL40V3000 but where on earth did you find that price? its a very good price ^_^

But id say the sony out-performs the samsung with motion and colours

Well, we finally opted for the sony. I did a price comparison and the cheapest was around £720 but then found it on digitaldirect.co.uk for £669.96. Delivery is rather exensive at £49.99 so if we'd only wanted the 40" Sony we'd have ordered from teleworldplc.com (similar price but free delivery) however, we also wanted a 20" Sony and as luck would have it, digitaldirect had a rather good offer if the two were bought together.

Fingers crossed all goes well with delivery etc and hopefully we'll be as happy with the tv's as we currently are with the deal we got!
