I am thinking of buy SONY DAV IS10 and was wondering if the DVD player can be replaced later on with a BLU RAY player to operate with the rest of the system. Or should i be buying just the Sony IS100 speaker system and a separate blu ray player?

Any advice on whether this is a good buy for a living room of the size of 15 feet by 9 feet would be most appreciated?

Any other comparable systems that is worth a look in?

thanks

You could certainly add a stand alone Blu-Ray player to the DAV-IS10 later on, hooking it up to the TV via HDMI for picture and via optical for sound. You'll only get Dolby Digital / DTS 5.1 rather than the new HD audio formats, but it will still work fine. On the other hand, the IS100 can accept LPCM through its HDMI port meaning with a Blu-Ray player which can decode the new HD formats on board and send them out via LPCM through the HDMI (think PS3 or Panasonic DMP-BD50), you could get HD audio with this.
I have no idea what the IS100 is like though as haven't heard it...
