Sony BDP S550 vs Panasonic DMP BD35 - which to buy for Christmas?

I have found very good offers for both on the net and cannot decide which to go for based on your reviews.

As both are fairly evenly priced, the only things that matter for me is overall picture and sound quality.

Both are superb players, but i'd go with the Sony 550 - it's the next step up from the Pana 35/Sony 350 level.
