SONY BDP S5000ES BLU RAY PLAYER Replacement Due ???

Hi all,

Have been very tempted to buy this excellent player now that its heavily discounted ( Hyperfi ).

However, does anyone know if a high end flagship Sony is due soon ( particularly if its going to be a 3d model ) ?

And just how good is it as a cd source ? If bought would pair it with my Sony DA5400ES.

I agree it's a great player and at a reduced price.

The 3D players to me are wasting their time till they get 3D TV's with out glasses.; Or they can stick to movie theaters.

Plus I have a big feeling the same way we had HDMI 1.0 then 1.3a 1.3b we are going to get the same situation with 3D.

For CD sound it sounds very good , better than the DVD players i had in the past. a dedicated CD player will still sound better but if you add a dac it should be better. ( I cant confirm the dac as I have not tried it. )

It is solid when opening and closing and It is quite in operation. This includes no Fan noise.
