I have found out why I am getting stuttering on BBC iPlayer etc, after just buying another wireless router. My Sony is connected by Ethernet.

It's more judder than stutter and only does it when the Sony is output to 720P, 1080i or 1080P. 576i/P and 480i/P is super smooth.

My TV is a Panny 37PX80 (720P), so is it the upscaling between the tv/blu-ray? Is there a software fix on the Sony side that can be done for this?

I'm not going to keep switching video outputs all the time. It also means I can't watch streaming HD from the net.

DivX HD files, from a USB stick @ 1080P to the tv, play back fine. My Humax Freesat box @ 720P is fine with BBC iPlayer.

Shame. 🙁

Bluraycinema,

I have my Sony hooked up via ethernet too and have never once encountered this problem, regardless of the resolution chosen.

Does the problem persist even after downloading the latest firmware?

I have been using BBC iPlayer every day - right from day one - with my S370 (it is why I bought it) and have it connected with a 5m ethernet cable to the back of my Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n 'hub' (fed by 10meg cable broadband.)

I have been most impressed by the picture quality (especially on BBC HD) and have never had the problems you describe.

(Thankfully never had any of the problems that crop up on other S370 threads either.)

I suggest you talk to Sony or take it back.
