Finally got to unpack my Denon 3800 BD; got 'Star Trek', 'X-men' box set' Blade Runner' final cut and' Transformers 2' plus 'Watchmen' director's cut which I have been saving to christen it with......

Messiah:

For me I got (on BD)

Braveheart
Gladiator
Casino
DaVinci Code
Angels and Demons

Messiah, that look's a cracking list.

I finally got my Watchmen Director's Cut blu ray so I can now see what I have been missing in the extra 25 minutes.

Santa got me Leon and Gladiator on Blu-ray. Might treat myself to District 9 in a couple of days.

i got transformers 1 & 2, the matrix trilogy and sin city all on bd

am happy with them (especially as the matrix trilogy came from the mother-in-law!)

also got some cash so might be adding to those

BDs:
Moon
Star Trek
The International
Pirates of the Caribbean box-set
Bournes box-set
Planet Earth box-set

DVDs:
Man on Wire
The Palme D'Or Collection, Volume 1, box-set (4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days; L'Enfant; & Underground)

I've watched all Bournes & Pirates, thus far.

All 3 Pirates sound & look absolutely awesome on BD - amazing colours & contrast, + stunning detail - much better than the DVD versions, especially the 1st.

However, have discovered that Bourne 3's combination of constantly-moving hand-held camera + many bike/car chases etc is a LCD TV's worst nightmare for motion blur. (Wonder if WHFS&V? use it as a test disc when reviewing TVs?)

Tell me, what do people do with all their old films they no longer watch - sell them, give them away to friends, charity shops ?

Perhaps chuck them out. Can all this plastic be recycled ?

Hi,

When I had collected a few BD of the films I had on DVD I sold the DVD's on Ebay. Almost ready to sell some more. My prices started at £2 per film and I just let the auction run despite offers from some to sell for fixed price. Postage was free and actually only cost about 1.50 per disc if memory serves me rightly. This included the option to track (in case of dispute). The biggest surprise was Dirty Dancing going for nearly £20.

Another post refers to the Lion King disc selling at £45 upwards so it may be worth checking your collections...

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

My sister bought me the Bourne trilogy on BD (Already have them on DVD, someone I know is gonna get lucky with a free hand-out)

I also got Michael McIntyre, Jimmy Carr & Bill Bailey stand up DVDs. Watched the Michael McIntyre "Hello Wembley" DVD yesterday. I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my face and it gave me a headache!!

I should add, The Wife went to Bluewater today (I know! I think she's crazy too!) And bought 'Inglorious Basterds' & 'Anvil: The True Story Of Anvil' on BD with some vouchers we got.

My BD collection is growing at a rate of knots!

I bought the bournes for myself a week ago ~ top films

Personally i get rid of mine at a trade-in shop that also sells blu rays. if i'm getting rid of a few dvds i can sometimes afford to pick up a blu ray at the same time

Big Chris:The Wife went to Bluewater today ....

Also recently went to Bluewater, during the snow cos I was hoping it would be empty - dream on! But even though the ground outside was covered in snow, BW was still full of tw*ts wearing the 'Bluewater uniform' - ie 3/4-length combat trews & flip-flops (& much hair gel, natch). Flip-flops, when the temp outside is 2-below??!!

Did you folks notice excessive motion-blur from your LCD TVs during the Bourne 3 BD? (Not been aware of motion-blur from any other BDs, incl Matrix 2's freeway chase.)

Ghostbusters

Sarah Connor : Terminator Chronicle Season 2

Mad Max 2

2001 Special Edition

Cloverfield

Don't mess with the Zohan

Aliens vs. Predator

Independance Day
