Snap crackle and pop hifi

When I turn my stereo up too loud, too fast it snaps, crackles and pops. Its a new system comprised of Leema Pulse amp and Leema Stream 2 cd player with Spendor A5 speakers. Its all relatively new, 4 months ish and bar this sounds great. When I say loud it is still under 1/2 way on the volume dial and while certainly loud not ground shaking. Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Should I be concerned or is this the nature of hifi?

Easy answer is - Don't turn it up so loud, so quickly ! Also if the vol. pot is producing a crackling sound regularly, then take it back to the dealer or send it off for repair.
