I don't know if anyones else has this problem but I have notice it on both my sky and my dad's.

You notice it on channels such as Sky Sports News or say Bloomberg. Channels that have a rolling ticket along the bottom of the screen.

The ticket constantly goes from smooth running to a judder where the text blurrs.

I sometimes see this effect on Dave where the image blurrs.

Any answers to this one?

Cheers in advance

Don't worry, you're not alone. Google it for many discussions!

It seems to be due to a deinterlacing issue when there's mixed content on screen, such as when you have a ticker overlaid onto a news feed.

Personally, I'm yet to try any TV/Sky box combination that is completely judder free.

Cheers big blue

Not a major issue, but one that bugs a little.

Thought it might be the tv but when i saw it on my dad's sony also thought it must be sky.

Going to be ordering my new TV in the next couple of weeks, so it may deal with it better.

It wont, the fault lies in the HD box and how it sends the information to the screen. To illustrate connect an old sky box via scart and hey presto no judder.

Maybe its actually down to the TV being a LCD which are more prone to this juddering effect on sideways scroling text than Plasma TV's.

Hi this happens on my Panny plasma and always has with my old sky box and hd. It didnt happen on my old CRT (with standard sky obviously). I have tried altering the picture settings (1080, 720, 576 , automatic etc) but nothing works, it seems to be a problem with lcd ans plasma screens.

Not a problem on my Samsung plasma of een my old series 5 Panasonic. All I would say is try turning certain picture enhancment features on your TV off as these can make issues like this more obvious. On the Samsung the one to turn off is MOVIE PLUS.
