I've just finished setting up my Sony STRDH-810 and I've now noticed that when watching Sky the sound is out of sync.

I've connected my my Sky HD and PS3 by QED HDMI to the AV unit and I have a single QED HDMI out to my Sony 37W5710. I'm not getting the problem with the PS3, well, I didn't notice if it did but on Sky it's very off putting.

Any suggestions please???

With that set-up you'll also only be getting stereo into the amp, so it could be the processing required to turn it into (Pro-Logic II) surround that's throwing things out of whack.

You really need a digital audio cable from the Sky box to the Sony receiver, which will give you Dolby Digital surround when the broadcast delivers it.

Thanks Andrew, that's good to know - do I need to do the same for my PS3 as well?

Gosh! That is interesting, does anybody know as to why SKY do not provide the information down the HDMI lead?

I only connected my HD box last week and to be honest have neither read the SKY manual fully nor had time to play with the settings on the Denon AVR1910. The sync is fine as is the fidelity but I just cannot get 5.1 surround on any brodcast film so far. D'oh!

I presume it's a cost option for them.

You may still get a lip synch problem with the optical, if so, go into the audio settings of the Sky HD box and you can adjust it there.
