I'm about to buy a new TV - likely Panasonic PZ85 42 inch

I've started to read online including in the foum here about lip sync issues when feeding in Sky HD channels to Panasonic TVs.

Probably a dumb question but does anyone know if this issue is a Sky HD box issue or the TV issue? Is it resolved yet?

Many of the posts when you type 'lip sync' and 'sky hd' into Google seem to be about Panasonic. Does anyone know for sure Is this problem just Panasonic or other brands?

I am considering the new W4500 Sony or Philips 9703 as alternatives so if the issue is purely Panasonic I'll consider one of those instead.

Thanks!

The lip sych issue with the Sky HD box appear across a variety of TV's and recievers on these forums. It is possible that the popularity of the Panasonic PXs and PZs make it appear that they are more prone to problems. Although I have a 37PX80 and Sky HD box, my lip synch problems usually involve the digital stream via the optical cable to my home cinema decoder. I don't think I've really noticed a problem when running the sound via the HDMI cable to the TV.

I have the 46PZ81 and have noticed Lipsync problems on SSHD3 whilst watching US open tennis but all other HD channels seem fine which would suggest to me a sky problem rather than tv fault.

lip sync is a sky problem, and nothing to do with individual tv sets, as to what the exact problem is dont think any one is sure, including sky, sky are aware of the problem, and i know that they have been offering some people refunds on there hd subcriptions until they have a fix for it
