LindsayT's schoolboy physics is a naive interpretation.

It bears little relation to the real world behaviour of loudspeaker drive units, and in particular takes no account of the disastrous breakup behaviour of large cone drive units, with the consequent distortions which are introduced.

It's also only valid for sealed cabinet designs. AVI loudspeakers are not a sealed cabinet design.

LindsayT has no real world experience of loudspeaker design and manufacture, whereas AVI have been doing this very successfully for thirty years.

Sinar Baja are one of the biggest and best manufacturers of drivers and loudspeakers in the world, and have supported AVI in their R&D program. I reckon they know what they're doing.

LindsayT's favoured loudspeakers are huge old designs and methods of 60 years ago, with all the distortions and colorations inherent in such.

AVI loudspeakers are designed to produce sound quality which is close to the very best headphones, and it is this clarity and lack of distortion which is immediately noticeable on audition.

Play AVI loudspeakers alongside big old passives, and you will hear the difference. Everyone does. It's up to you whether you like it.

P.S. They're small, too, which is a big help in your furnishing concept in modern houses. But they sound big.
