Second Hand Technics SL1200 or Project GENIE Mk3

OK, I am getting back into vinyl after a bit of a break, and my cheap entry level turntable i bought from RS several years ago seems to be broken and was never very good in the first place! I am on a very tight budget - about £200 - I was going to get a Project GENIE Mk3, but then a friend (who DJ's) suggested a second Hand Technics SL1200. I have some experience with the SL1210 because an ex-housemate had one. They certainly seem well made and sturdy compared to a cheap turntable. But I am never going to DJ with it, so should I be looking at something else?

I am assuming I should go witha s/h SL1200/1210?

Sorry is this is a real no brainer newbie question!

Buy the Techie. When funds allow replace the standard arm with a better one - eg a 2nd hand Rega.
