Me too, I have pre-ordered the Panasonic for £539, history suggests it will be more reliable than Samsung based on past players.simonlewis said:

My first DVD player was a Samsung 709 back in 2000 and it was a fantastic reliable DVD player and was an early generation. The problems will be firmeware updates and both Panasonic and Samsung will be very proactive in this arena.

As I have said before, check if your existing cables work first. You may find that existing cables already exceed specs and work with 4K as well.
Not sure what my cables are to be honest they are quite old, i'm pretty sure you get a free one with the panasonic UHD blu-ray player, no i don't do 4K netflix i haven't got an account/subscribe to them.
