Samsung Smart TV and Arcam IrDac - No sound

This is my first post here, so please advise me if Im doing things wrong

Yesterday I received my new Samsung Smart Tv, model UE407090. It has digital out (toslink only) and I don't want to use the internal speakers and listen via my hifi system instead.

Unfortunalety the the arcam keeps quiet...

I double checked the optical cable, it is not broken. The tv i set to play only via external speakers and the digital audio format is set to "PCM".

When connecting the tv, the arcam seems to recognize a signal, as it clicks and changes the led to green. But no sound.

Has anybody experience with this?

What could be the reason? Is it rather the IrDac or the Samsung?

As a beginner I appreciate any tips, thanks!

For anyone possibly interested:

I don't know what caused this problem, but after a factory reset everything worked...

To do so, put the TV in standby. Then press INFO -> MENU -> MUTE -> POWER.

Choose options and factory reset. Then it should work. Note that you must reconfigure the whole system, including channels.
