Samsung 40c8000 or Sony 40hx703?

Hello,

I was going to order the Sony 40hx703 but it was out of stock for a long time so I then decided on the Samsung 40c8000 but the Sony has now come back in stock.

Can anyone offer any opinions on the two screens and advise what your choice would be?

the sony is only 2d isn't it? the sammy is 3d..

Yeah that is correct, I am not to worried about 3d as long as the 2d perfromance is good.

have you considered an lg42le8900? its a 2d set with rear led backlighting, and it gets excellent reviews ..

I think that Sony is now discontinued so you might struggle to find one.
