I've just bought a headphone amp.
I need 100 hrs to run it in.
Do I need to play music through the amp to run it in, or it just needs to be left on for 100 hrs?
I suppose the latter but please confirm. Thank you.

I agree about the running in, but why Rock music?

[Edit] I just re-read the post. I thought it was about the running-in of the headphones. Sorry. Not sure why an electronic item - like an amp - would need running in. Transducers like headphones and cartridges and speakers; yes. Things with 'mechanicals' (motors, bearings etc); yes.

Amplifiers? Why?

Rock music is more suitable to run the newly used speaker system because of its balanced bass, midrange and treble.

I dont think the other music like Hip-Hop is good for this process, Hip-Hop for instance usually has extra bass and treble but less concerntrate to mid-range. Rock music will cook the speakers faster and effectively.

It has tubes in it. (hybrid)
It is X Can V8 Headphone amp

My very knowledgable stereo shop owner, where I bought it, told me that it needs 100hrs run in time. (And he's on vacation now so I can't ask him)
