Rotel

Hi,

I have a pair of b&w speakers (601) doing nothing and have decided to gift to my son. I will need to buy an amp and opinions are leading me to rotel as a good match.

Have the chance to purchase at a decent price 870bx amp but cant test as some distance away. Unable to find any reviews on the web but the spec looks good (dual mono/good size transformer/80w)

Close to buying but would appreciate any advice.

Firstly Rotel and B&W is a great match. B&W is Rotel's UK distributor and both based at the same location on the south coast.

Not heard that particular Rotel, but it'll depend how much you want to spend.

I've heard RA-01/02 models with B&W and they make a wonderful budget partnership.

The problem with Rotel is they made so many different models. Some of them were crackers others were 'pups'. I know from personal experience the RA-01 and 02 were really good sounding and well specced. Also because they are newer it may help with reliability.
