I was saying to my other half the Jone's all have 65", this seems to be the norm.
It's astonishing only a few years ago, 50" seemed to be the marker for sensible purchase.
I wonder main stream magazines like WHF, how much impact does it have in influencing and shifting peoples 'lifestyle choices'?

Do people even touch stuff like magazines after Covid? I wouldn’t touch a newspaper anymore, mind you that has been the case a lot longer than Covid.

I remember when my step-daughter's then husband, bought a 47 inch plasma, it seemed enormous, much too big.

That was over 20 years ago...

Many many years since I brought a magazine, this preceded covid. The only time, I would pick up a copy of WHF or any magazine (photography, PC computing. Private Eye etc.) is when I'm boarding the plane.

WH Smith may have deserted the high street but their presence at the major airports is welcoming.

Last version I bought was digital but that was many years ago now.

Premier Inn are the same, keep sending me nice 20% off notices but never for the date or location I want..... Ho,hum!

My son booked two rooms at a premier inn, in Brixton next September because he wants to go and see the Gareth Emery concert. 1 night is just over £200 for two nights it was going to be over £700.
I'm not looking forward to it. Travelling from Skipton to Leeds on the train and then down to London and then on the Tube for the first time in my life, honestly bricking myself.

That's an adventure - don't worry about it, I think you'll be suitably impressed.

When you know what line you want (check that out now)....then all platforms are signed 'eastbound' 'westbound' etc., so as long as you know the necessary direction, you can't go wrong.

...and you'll never wait long for the next train.

The standard of driving. Sure I've said this before, but there's so much that's dreadful about it.

Endured about 7 hours of motorway, A road and urban driving visiting friends tues and weds, and I am amazed that the roads are not awash with blood. Tailgating, aggressive lunges from lane to lane*, poor use of foglights etc etc etc. Many people seem to feel invincible in a modern car. They are deeply wrong...

*There were several sharp-intake-of-breath moments from us both, mercifully involving other cars. Does these people have no sense of respect for others, of even their own safety? Seems not.

One of my pet hates is buying second hand CDs from 'you know where's which are listed as being in "Very Good" condition, then when it/they arrive and you open the the package, anticipating a decent CD, you open it, the lid falls off, you look at the CD, it's scratched all over and you feel disappointed and that the CD should have been described as "acceptable", or the company that listed it, should have described the condition, but they're too big and busy a company to care. I find one particular company, who also sells books have offended me this way, more than once.
To be fair to them they usually offer some way of appeasing me when I complain. I always point out that, I'm a regular buyer of their items and I won't leave them negative feedback, because I never leave negative feedback ever. I just don't leave feedback if I've been disappointed by a purchase.

Usually, if you complain, they'll refund you, it's peanuts to them - some of those companies are pretty good like that.

So much hate in replies to posts, and so many posts just spouting absolute BS and blatantly presenting it as fact. If they're doing so much so blatantly, what are they getting away with covertly?

It's a platform that removes posts for stating a personal opinion that we should burn or hang pedos, but not remove posts which include videos of violence and even murder, because it "doesn't go against our community guidelines".

It increases and promotes violence and hate, and is fuelling the downward spiral the world seems to be in since the turn of the century, with people becoming more stupid year on year - I don't think we're far off the film Idiocracy!

Yeah I knew they'd refund me, but it's a difficult to find CD so I decided to keep it thinking it will probably play. They offered to allow me to pick an additional CD which they'll send out for free. I still think though, that CDs that are barely acceptable should not be described as "Very Good".
York Records don't do that, Music Magpie don't do it. The only people I've found that regularly do, is them what sell books an' all. One time I received one from them that was described like I said and it was an absolute wreck. I personally see no excuse for mis-describing in this way, it causes disappointment and hassle to the buyer.

I've had similar issues from the usual suspects, John. But I have been pleasantly surprised that an unplayable CD has successfully ripped using EAC. I've only had two CDs which wouldn't rip, a very badly scratched one and, surprisingly, a new one. Don't discard any CDs until you've attempted a rip.
