Both of my brothers worked for Customs (at VAT HQ).
They always said that it was a good job that I didn't (In several jobs I couldn't hold my tongue in the face of any BS).
The diversity 'training' drove them to despair....everybody involved knew it was just a tickboxing exercise.
(But you will know all about it Jason - more than any other, government departments have to be SEEN to be doing the 'right' things).
I remember when I first started 2 April 1990, like the Eagles Hotel California you can check in but you can't check out.
The presence of the 'Loony Left' was still there. We had positive discrimination, giving preference to one's ethnicity and gender (Oh gosh back in the day, we only had XX and XY) anyway, if you were indigenuous to these lands you were likely to be overlooked, just so the Council can meet it's quota.
Honestly, colour and your gender should be invisible, it isn't important. I don't want to celebrate Menstrual Cycle Day Or xxxxxx History Day or be party to virtual signalling and wokism.
What matters, is your skill set, your basic attitude, experience and the ability to do the job.
You can be immersed in it but as long as you don't lose your essence that's what really matters.
